Find what's fresh on the Farm
We often get questions about what’s available in the farm market from people who have a vision about what they’d like to eat. They might be seeking out fresh cherries and peaches, or looking for that perfect watermelon, or hankering for a first taste of sweet corn.
Nature, of course, is unpredictable. Sometimes things just aren’t ripe…until they suddenly are. The benefits of eating local are too many to list - you’re getting produce picked when it’s actually ready, shipped minimal distances. It tastes better and is easier on the earth. The thing we have to take into consideration, though, is that respecting nature in this way means we take what’s ready as it comes.
To keep you up to date on what we have and are expecting in the market, we’ve created a What's Fresh page. Each month, we update it with the list of fruits and veggies you can find here. If you’re looking for something in particular, check the list to see whether we’re anticipating it! This year, with a cold spring delaying many of our plants by 2-3 weeks, we’re just starting to harvest the first of our warm-season crops. If you’re looking for something in particular, check What’s Fresh, or give us a call.
We deeply appreciate your commitment to visiting your community farm, and to tapping in to the deeper rhythms of life as we honor how and when nature provides. In the coming months, as our harvest fills the market, we’re looking forward to sharing it with you and your family.
