The rhythm of the land18 Comments
The land gives us unending gifts. It gives us the promise of a new sunrise, and the lengthening shadows of approaching night. From the first moments when we arrive in the morning to the last moments as we close up in the evenings, simply looking out the window is an exercise in restoration. We feel the movement, the deep, spiritual connections that we make when we open ourselves to what lives, unspoken, in the rhythms of the universe.
Now more than ever, we recognize how important it is to create spaces where we can find those rhythms. They're often hidden under the noise and movement of our day-to-day lives. We don't hear movement of the breeze because it's hidden by the sounds of our human lives. We don't notice the bird in flight because we're looking down: collecting our keys, sorting our groceries, responding to a text.
We encourage you, now as always, to find a few times in the day to connect with the earth. Maybe you might put a hand on it, or leave your shoes inside and let your feet do what they were meant for. You might feel something, a kind of heartbeat that thrums underneath you, as the planet goes about its own rising and falling and shifting day. Its rhythms are yours. You are part of the broader rhythms of life. Together, we make music.
