February 2020, Week 2
What has history in your life? Who lived here before you, or stood looking at this same view? Whose feet stepped where you're stepping?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes you can touch something and feel echos running through it like an electric current that flows through you from the past to the future. When you pick up a rock that fits perfectly in your hand, sometimes you get the sense, tickling at the back of your mind, that someone else must have picked up that rock before, felt its heft, considered the resistance and relief of giving it one long throw.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Or at least, you do if you're open to seeing the world that way: not as a series of moments written by our actions now, but rather as a flow of interconnectedness, of possibility, of chance and hope and choice.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We aren't just here now. We're in the midst of a magnificent web, a broad series of overlapping possibilities and directions. From certain angles, it disappears. But then, like the finest spider silk, it re-emerges, frosted with morning dew. ⠀
