January 2020, Week 1

January 2020, Week 1

Your tree has been part of your holiday celebrations, but like all things, it eventually comes to a close. Start your new year on the right foot when you recycle your Christmas tree. Bring your tree back to the farm between December 26 and January 11, and we'll handle it for you. Please drop off trees in the south parking lot.⠀

This week we will be closed until January 2nd. If your normal pick up day is Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday please pick up your share on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.

Sorrel - 1 bunch

Sorrel is a garden herb like a plant that looks like spinach but tastes sour and tangy. It’s sometimes called Spinach Dock but doesn’t taste like spinach. The sourness is due to oxalic acid. Sorrel is sometimes used in salads, soups or stews. In Greece, it’s sometimes added to Spanakopita. It’s hard to find in grocery stores, but many Eastern Europeans grow them in their gardens. We love to grow Sorrel here at the farm, its become one of our favorite produce staples.
