This summer, find your farm family. Starting July 13, we're debuting our first Summer on the Farm. This small-group experience is designed for adults and kids ages 12 and up. Together we'll spend time alongside the farmers who cultivate and appreciate the land. We'll discuss the farm and its history, the art and literature of farming, and the farm's place in civilization. We'll explore working the fields, engaging our senses and our curiosity as we learn together. We'll build in plenty of time for conversation and reflection, creating space for the experience to inform your life in the way that feels right to you. More than just a summer camp for an older crowd, Summer on the Farm invites you into a world you might have wondered about, but not had access to investigate.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

THIS WEEK IN YOUR SIMPLE SHARE...

Utah Cherries - one bag

New Potatoes - one bag

Adjust oven rack to lowest position and heat oven to 450 degrees. Toss potatoes with the safflower oil you received in June, and salt and pepper. Arrange, on a large lipped cookie sheet. Roast until tender and golden brown, about 30 minutes (check after 20 minutes). Transfer to a serving dish, sprinkle a few pinches of French Picnic Salt from Beautiful Briny Sea on the top, and enjoy!

Onion - one bunch

Tennessee Homestyle Onions

Tomatoes - 3 tomatoes
Chop up your tomatoes, onion, and cilantro and toss. Add in olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper. What else do you put in your fresh pico de gallo?

We are so excited to introduce a new company in our market: Rare Bird Preserves. If you haven't tried a curd preserve before, you're in for a treat! Curd Preserve differs from all other types of preserves as it contains eggs and butter, very similar in texture as custard. Curd preserve is a thick, creamy spread that is made by cooking together fruit juice – usually a citrus fruit, egg yolks, butter and sugar. Rare Bird Preserves craft their products the traditional way: in copper pots with natural ingredients. While their approach is traditional, their flavors are anything but. Blending seasonal fruits with herbs, chocolates, and other exceptional ingredients, they produce deliciously unique spreads.
