October 2019, Week 2

It's never to early to ring in the holiday season with an elegant seasonal wreath that will warm up your entrance for the season. Local Roots Flower Farm will lead you through the process of turning a simple round base into a unique work of art that will hang on your door throughout the season. They’ll share tips for wreath composition, tools of the trade, and ideas for sourcing your wreath materials. Then, they’ll provide everything you need - including instruction - to create a wreath on-site. Your holiday wreath will hang on your door to greet visitors and cheer you up for weeks to come.

THIS WEEK IN YOUR SIMPLE SHARE...

Watermelon - one

Salted Grilled Watermelon

Delicata Squash - one

Roasted Delicata Squash

Spring Mix- one bag

A typical spring mix provides almost 2 grams of protein per serving. Each bag of mixed greens provides a healthy dose of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, and folate potassium. Eat up!

Tomatoes - 3

BLT Pasta Salad

Baby Celery - one bunch

Baby celery, also known as cutting celery, is perfect for any dish you want to add a little celery flavor.

Mushrooms - 2

Spinach Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms

Asian pears - 2 lbs

Apple and Asian Pear Crumble

Onion - 2

Caramelized Balsamic Onions

Mango Salsa -one jar

Salsitas Mendoza's salsas are made fresh in small batches with no sugars, oils or preservatives. Just the natural flavors of roasted tomato, tomatillo and chiles. You’d normally describe this salsa as farm to table but, in all honesty, they usually go from farm to mouth!

Chips - one bag
Chips and salsa can only get better when they’re made locally from fresh ingredients. Salsitas Mendoza offers a line of locally-made Mexican chips and salsa from all-natural ingredients so you can enjoy homemade, authentic Mexican flavor without the time or hassle of making it yourself.

See you next week!
